Pokémon Sword and Shield: A New Adventure in Galar

Pokémon™ Sword and Pokémon™ Shield are the groundbreaking debut titles of Pokémon's eighth generation of video games. In this premium package, players step into the shoes of a budding Pokémon Trainer in the vast Galar region, on an exciting quest to capture, train, and battle with other trainers.

Pokémon™ Sword and Pokémon™ Shield feature turn-based battles where players must strategically defeat other trainers, allowing their Pokémon to level up and evolve into more powerful forms. Like in earlier Pokémon games, players can capture Pokémon during wild encounters by weakening them in battle and using Poké Balls to catch them.

Dynamic features and cooperative gameplay

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield introduce players to the dynamic Galar region, where they begin their journey as a Pokémon Trainer by selecting one of three new partner Pokémon: the grass-type Grookey, fire-type Scorbunny, or water-type Sobble. Each choice sets the stage for a unique journey filled with challenges, including thwarting the mischievous plans of Team Yell and unraveling the secrets surrounding the legendary Pokémon, Zacian and Zamazenta.

One of the most notable features of the games is the Wild Area, a vast open space with dynamic weather and varied terrains, where trainers can freely control the camera to explore and discover Pokémon in their natural habitats. This area also introduces Max Raid Battles, a co-op experience where up to four players can team up to face off against gigantic and hyper-powerful Dynamax Pokémon

The games also introduce the Gigantamax phenomenon, where certain Pokémon not only grow immense in size but also change their appearance and gain access to exclusive, devastating moves known as G-Max moves. With the inclusion of Poké Jobs, trainers can assign their Pokémon with tasks that allow them to gain experience and rewards. It's worth noting that the games don't include the full National Pokédex, making some Pokémons unavailable.

A fun duo of adventure-packed games

To sum up, Pokémon™ Sword and Pokémon™ Shield offer a captivating and revitalized experience for both new and veteran trainers alike. Players will find themselves immersed in a vibrant world filled with adventure, strategic battles, and a sense of camaraderie fostered through co-op challenges. However, it's important to remember that the absence of certain Pokémon might disappoint some long-time fans of the franchise.
